After returning to the ship and getting some sleep, we found ourselves on our way back to McMurdo. This is Beaufort Island, the site of a large penguin rookerie and hence off limits to anyone who doesn't have a specific research interest in the penguins. The sea was incredibly calm for our entire ride back.
