This is one of the many Weddell seals that inhabit the sea ice near the channel broken by the icebreaker. If the seals were in the path of the icebreaker or were near it, they would tend to do their inchworm dance to get away. This one, at a safe distance, merely turned its head and waved. Note the wind patterns in the snow.
