In Italy they do interesting things with their scaffolding. Here in the US, we sometimes cover it with a black cloth to keep the workers shaded. In Italy they use the cloth for advertising and often also for a look at what the restored building underneath might look like when it is done (you can see that at the top and bottom of this image).
