This interesting pattern in melting snow developed over the time that I was at Camp 26. When I first got there, this patch of snow was horizontal and contiguous, and would have covered nearly the entire picture. But as I left, it had broken up into these geometric pieces. The snow is set against a backdrop of dirty ice, that has been cleansed in places by meltwater.
