As we moved higher in the canyon the alder got thicker. This is a picture of a person standing ten feet from me smack dab in the middle of the picture. If you stare at the area above the center of the picture you can see the outline of his hat. The focus is on the person - if that helps at all. If the alder itself weren't bad enough, there was the occasional beehive to contend with. The guy leading our group got stung more than 10 times.
