The next day we took a bus back up to Castries. We had to buy four extra seats on the bus for all of our luggage (Mom and Dad brought a lot of Christmas presents for Eric). St. Lucia buses are in fact usually Toyota minivans configured with 3 or 4 rows of bench seats in the back and where in the States there would be an aisle, in St. Lucia there are more seats that fold up to allow people to get past. The minivans usually held about 15 people. Expecially for a long trip like the one from Vieux Fort to Castries, the buses wait until they are full before driving away.
