I've been to
Point Reyes a number of times over the course of my time in California. It is a great landscape. In the spring of 2010 I took my field methods class there to work on two projects. One was looking at a site where the park service recently
removed a dam (
EA report). The other compared two beaches - the highly energetic South Beach on the Pacific Coast, and the relatively placid Drake's Beach facing Drake's Bay. If we had needed a third project, it might have looked at the recovery of vegetation from the
Mount Vision fire. A few of my reconnaissance pictures for the fire project are first. Then comes the Muddy Hollow dam project. Then we go to the beach. Perhaps someday I'll have time to add captions.
