The entryway to the Cape Evans hut had a row of shovels and a few other tools. It also served as a passageway between the main hut (in front of me and to the left) and the attached stables (behind me and to the left). Shackleton had a number of ponies that were used to help move gear. The passageway also served as a storage area for seal pelts, giving it a very distinctive aroma.
