There was a lizard in Eric's closet. St Lucia is a noisy place. Crickets, frogs, birds, and dogs make sure that there is constant background noise. Sometimes it is almost deafening. Like when you're trying to sleep. Fortunately, lying on the beach can make one quite tired so I usually didn't have too much trouble falling asleep. Or at least I wouldn't have had too much trouble if it weren't for the mosquitoes.
